ICT Minister, Emma Theofelus, has urged mobile users to register their SIM cards by June 30, 2024, to avoid permanent cancellation and resale of their numbers. Despite a grace period following temporary disconnections, many users remain unregistered. The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia previously suspended close to 600 thousand unregistered SIM cards. Paratus Telecommunications and UCOM have fully registered their clients, while Telecom Namibia and Mobile Telecommunications Limited have reached 70% and 94% registration, respectively.
