Namibia is hosting the Aviation Development Africa Conference this week in Windhoek. The Namibia Airports Company says that the event will boost tourism and draw global aviation industry leaders to Windhoek. With the theme ‘Igniting Connections and Propelling Growth,’ AviaDev Africa has become the leading platform for promoting air travel development on the continent. Here is NAC spokesperson, Dan Kamati with more on the conference.

Global aviation industry leaders will be meeting in Windhoek, 19-21 June 2024 at the Movenpick Hotel. This annual forum will bring together influential stakeholders, including airlines, airports, tourism boards, government officials, and industry experts to foster collaboration, forge strategic partnerships, and explore opportunities that will deliver new air routes across Africa.

Over 35 airlines and 400 participants, the highest number ever for an AviaDev conference, have confirmed their participation at the event which is renowned for its unique ability to create a conducive environment for aviation professionals to network, exchange ideas, and collaborate on innovative strategies that drive sustainable air connectivity.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Works and Transport, John Mutorwa will officiate the opening ceremony.

Furthermore, the conference supports the Yamoussoukro Decision towards a Single Air Transport Market (SAATM) in Africa and pursues partnerships that will assist in carving out new opportunities for the continent’s aviation development and progress.

Moreover, the Namibia Tourism Board will host the Networking welcome reception on 19 June 2024, while the Namibia Airports Company together with the Namibia Civil Aviation Authority will host the Gala Dinner at Droombos Wine Estate.

Fly Namibia, Discover Airlines, and South African Airways are the official carriers for the Aviadev Africa Conference, with Gondwana Collections among the silver partners. The Namibia Aviation Training Academy (NATA) is the outreach partner.
