Otjiwarongo Signs MoU with Climate Fund to Develop Biomass and Waste Management Centre

Otjiwarongo Municipality has joined forces with the City Climate Finance Gap Fund to establish a biomass and waste management resource centre. The MoU, signed by Mayor Gottlieb Shivute and Judith Middleton, involves leveraging European expertise to develop technical strategies, conduct biomass mapping, implement modern waste management systems, devise recycling plans, and set up a resource management centre. This collaboration, initiated through a 2019 grant application, signifies a substantial step forward in bolstering Otjiwarongo’s environmental sustainability initiatives.
