INTERVIEW: Walvis Bay Mayor Trevino Forbes Joins Miss Ray Sasman on Her Inspirational Walk for Namibia’s Youth

In a remarkable display of community spirit and dedication to the youth of Namibia, Walvis Bay Mayor Trevino Forbes joined Miss Ray Sasman on a segment of her ambitious walk from Windhoek to Okahandja. This walk, which Ray Sasman has dubbed the “Walk with Me” journey, aims to raise awareness and support for the youth of Namibia.

Mayor Forbes, who had just returned from a trip to the United States, wasted no time in showing his support for this noble cause. He landed at 8:20 PM at Hosea Kutako International Airport and joined Ray Sasman early the next morning. Despite the cold weather and the rigors of adjusting from the heat of South America, Mayor Forbes was enthusiastic about participating in this journey.

“It’s wonderful to be home and to be part of something so meaningful,” Mayor Forbes expressed. “Ray’s journey is a testament to her dedication and passion for supporting the youth of Namibia. I’m excited to walk with her and show my support.”

Ray Sasman, who began her journey in Windhoek, has already covered almost 900 kilometers and has about 2,000 more to go. Despite sustaining a minor injury, she remains determined to complete her journey, motivated by the cause she champions.
