Over 200 injured, 100+ arrested in Kenya tax hike demonstrations

Background

Nationwide protests in Kenya against government tax hike plans have resulted in over 200 injuries and more than 100 arrests. Human rights groups, including Amnesty International, reported a violent crackdown by riot police, involving tear gas, water cannons, and rubber bullets, with at least 105 protesters detained.
