UK Elections Betting Investigation widens

An investigation into bets placed on the timing of the UK election is widening, according to reports. The Gambling Commission is understood to be looking into more people with links to the government and the Conservative Party. The regulator was already known to be investigating four individuals, including two Conservative candidates, over claims of a flurry of bets just before Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced an election for July 4th. Chief Political Correspondent at the Times Aubrey Allegretti says the Gambling Commission is following a process.
