The International Monetary Fund has agreed to immediately disburse $569.6 million to Zambia, boosting the country’s foreign exchange reserves as it deals with its worst drought in almost 60 years. Bloomberg reports that the money includes an augmentation of $385.7 million. The funds will assist Zambia’s drought relief measures.

Heroes’ Day to be commemorated at Omuthiya

Namibia is set to commemorate this year’s 34th Heroes’ Day at the Omuthiya Recreational Park in the Oshikoto region on August 26th. The event, themed “Honouring Our Martyrs,” will pay homage to and reflect on the bravery of the heroes and heroines of the liberation struggle, which began on August 26th, 1966, at Omugulugwombashe and paved the way for a sovereign and independent Namibia. NCCI plans Swakopmund trade expo in July

The 9th Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry Swakopmund International Trade Expo will be held from July 1st to 6th, 2024, at Vineta Sports Stadium in Swakopmund. The official ceremony on July 3rd will be attended by President Nangolo Mbumba and Botswana’s President Makgweetsi Masisi.
