Sarcoma and Bone Cancer Awareness Month Highlights Critical Need for Early Detection and Treatment

Background

July is designated as Sarcoma and Bone Cancer Awareness Month, aiming to enhance public understanding of these cancers, promote research initiatives, and advocate for improved resources and treatments for affected Namibians. The prognosis for sarcoma patients varies based on factors such as cancer type, location, stage, and treatment response. Cancer Association of Namibia’s CEO Rolf Hansen.

 

Although not as common, these rare bone cancers have affected about 361 per ‪100,000‬ Namibians on average in the past decade.
