The Ministry of Health and Social Services received a N$20 million mobile intensive care unit for Walvis Bay State Hospital from the US Embassy. The five-bed facility, stocked with N$ 600,000 worth of medicine, can serve the local population and be deployed to other locations during medical crises. MoHSS Executive Director Ben Nangombe emphasized the ICU’s role in enhancing the ministry’s response to health emergencies. US Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Tiffany Miller highlighted the donation’s significance in strengthening Namibia’s health security. This donation is part of a larger N$130 million package, the largest contribution from the US Department of Defence’s aid program to Namibia since independence.
