Informal economic traders in Windhoek are calling for an end to police brutality, claiming continued mistreatment by the City Police. Traders report being manhandled, arrested, having their goods confiscated, and facing hefty fines while trying to earn a living. Representing the traders, the Namibia Informal Sector Organisation Secretary General, Josef Kandenge says these actions by law enforcement are unjust and severely impact the livelihoods of traders.
