The Agriculture, Water and Land Reform ministry has banned cattle movement in and out of Opuwo Urban Constituency after a contagious bovine pleuropneumonia outbreak in Okapundja village according to The Brief reports. Detected on 1 July, the outbreak affected a herd of 30 cattle, with eight testing positive and one dying. The Ministry, invoking the Animal Health Act, has also suspended cattle gatherings, initiated active disease surveillance, and set up roadblocks to enforce compliance. Farmers are urged to cooperate with these control measures.
