Israel’s Prime Minister has called on American lawmakers to supply more weapons for the war in Gaza, vowing his country will defeat Hamas. Addressing Congress on Wednesday, Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel will fight until all hostages taken on October 7 and still being held in the strip are released. As he spoke, thousands of protestors gathered in Washington DC to condemn his visit, and dozens of Democrats boycotted his address. Independent senator Bernie Sanders labelled Netanyahu a “war criminal”, while Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called it a “dark day in US history”. Sally Patterson has more.
