Cricket Namibia is excited to announce FNB as the official naming sponsor of the new cricket stadium. The announcement was made during a corporate breakfast hosted by Cricket Namibia on Friday, 26 July, at Rooster & Co., with the attendance of esteemed business partners. These breakfasts are a quarterly tradition, bringing together Cricket Namibia’s sponsors and partners every three months. These engagements offer a valuable platform for networking and collaboration within the cricket community. However, this particular breakfast stood out as Cricket Namibia’s long-term partner, FNB, reaffirmed their commitment to the game of cricket in Namibia. FNB, in collaboration with Cricket Namibia, announced their new role as the stadium naming sponsor and the Associate Partner to the Richelieu Eagles. The construction of the new cricket stadium is an exciting development not only for Cricket Namibia but for the entire nation. The 2027 Cricket World Cup will be co-hosted with Cricket South Africa and Zimbabwe Cricket, marking the first time Namibia will host World Cup games. Cricket Namibia CEO, Johan Muller: “We are thankful and privileged to get FNB’s full support. They have been a consistent partner through our development program, and it is amazing to see their massive involvement now with the stadium and men’s cricket. We are proud to be associated with a brand like FNB. Thank you for supporting us in this journey as we create milestones together.” The partnership between Cricket Namibia and FNB is secured through a three-year contract, extending up until just before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2027. This collaboration signifies a major milestone in Cricket Namibia’s journey and highlights the continued support from FNB towards the growth and development of cricket in Namibia. With the construction of the new stadium underway, the future of cricket in Namibia looks brighter than ever. The support from FNB ensures that Cricket Namibia is well-prepared to host international events and provide a world-class facility for players and fans
