McHenry Venaani Announces Final Bid for PDM Leadership, Prepares for Political Retirement

McHenry Venaani, the leader ofthe official opposition, the Popular Democratic Movement, has announced that he will be running for the presidency of his party for the final time before retiring from politics. The PDM is set to hold its elective congress in Katima Mulilo from August 22 to 24 to elect new leadership for the next five years. Venaani, who has led the party for 10 years, expressed his intent to run for re-election and lead the movement in the general elections in November. He noted that this would be his last term, in line with the party’s constitution.
