Nantu Kavango East Elects New Leadership

The Namibia National Teachers’ Union in the Kavango East Region has chosen new leaders for the next five years. At the regional conference on July 20, Petrus Kashumali was elected as chairperson, with Vallentinus Kamenye as deputy. Other positions filled include Gervatius Samende as secretary, Immanuel Linyando as deputy secretary, and Paulus Kativa as treasurer. The new leadership aims to revive the union’s activism and protect teachers’ rights, addressing concerns about declining membership and recent dissatisfaction among members.
