Sudan’s army chief, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, maintained a defiant stance on Wednesday following a drone strike on an army base he was inspecting in eastern Sudan says Reuters. The attack, which occurred during a graduation ceremony at the Gibeit army base, located approximately 100 kmfrom Port Sudan in the Red Sea state, resulted in five fatalities. This incident raises doubts about the effectiveness of recent efforts to end the 15-month civil war.
