President Nangolo Mbumba has been awarded Namibia’s highest honor, The Most Ancient Order of Welwitschia Mirabilis, in a ceremony held at State House on Saturday. Former President Hifikepunye Pohamba presented the award and sash, symbolizing Mbumba’s role as Head of State. Mbumba, who became Namibia’s fourth president following the death of Hage Geingob on February 4, 2024, dedicated the honor to his family, mentors, and Swapo Party colleagues. He expressed deep gratitude to his maternal grandparents, his family, and the Namibian people for their support and contribution to his success.
