Meatco NCA Pty Ltd has earned the prestigious Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification, awarded by the Namibian Standards Institution (NSI) based on NAMS/SANS 10330:2020.

This certification highlights the company’s commitment to food safety and quality, reinforcing its leadership in Namibia’s meat industry.

The HACCP certification is an internationally recognized standard that mandates companies to identify, assess, and control potential hazards in food production and handling.

This ensures that products are safe and meet high-quality standards before reaching consumers.

Dr. Eino Mvula, CEO of NSI, praised Meatco NCA Pty Ltd for its achievement, saying, “We are proud to grant HACCP certification to Meatco NCA Pty Ltd. This recognition reflects the company’s dedication to top-notch food safety and quality standards. At NSI, we strive to promote such standards across Namibia’s industries, and Meatco NCA Pty Ltd’s success is a prime example of the excellence that can be achieved with commitment.”

Dr. Mvula also highlighted the role of HACCP certification in boosting consumer confidence and ensuring that Namibian food products adhere to both national and international standards.

“NSI is dedicated to fostering a culture of quality and safety in all sectors. HACCP certification is crucial for protecting public health and enhancing the competitiveness of our products on the global stage,” he added.

The NSI is encouraging other companies in the food and beverage sector to pursue HACCP or ISO 22000 certification. The certification process, though demanding, offers significant benefits, including enhanced operational efficiency, reduced food safety risks, and improved product marketability.

To support companies in achieving certification, NSI offers a range of services, including training.

  • Dr. Mvula emphasized, “Achieving HACCP certification is about more than just meeting requirements; it reflects a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence. We urge all food sector companies to utilize our services to attain this important certification.”
