Deputy Education Minister Caley Addresses Decline in Learner Promotion Rates in Hardap Region

During her visit to the Hardap Region, Deputy Minister of Education, Arts and Culture, Faustina Caley, addressed the issue of declining learner promotion rates in secondary education. At Mariental, she urged school managers to implement strategies for improving student advancement. The review of semester results showed a notable drop in promotion rates, especially in Grade 11, where only 19.9% of students advanced. Discussions with stakeholders focused on overcoming challenges in key subjects like mathematics and languages, and highlighted the ministry’s commitment to better resource allocation and leadership in schools.
