Shaun Gariseb from “End Period Poverty” has raised a significant concern regarding the dire situation at Baumgartsbrunn School. During a recent visit, Gariseb discovered that nearly 95% of the students at the school lacked proper footwear, with approximately 280 out of 320 children going without shoes as winter approached.
Despite reaching out to Project You Will Never Walk Alone for assistance, the organization has yet to respond or provide the necessary support. This has led to frustration as local authorities, including the governor’s office, have donated funds intended for shoe distribution but have not followed through effectively.
Gariseb also highlighted that while the governor’s office allocated N$25,000 for shoes, this aid has not been directed towards Baumgartsbrunn. Additionally, the recent distribution of uniforms by a rural constituency counselor raises concerns about the prioritization of resources.
Gariseb’s appeal underscores the urgent need for a coordinated effort to address the pressing needs of Baumgartsbrunn School’s students. He calls on both Project You Will Never Walk Alone and local officials to honor their commitments and ensure that aid reaches the most vulnerable children in the region.
