UK’s MET Police “Failing” In Key Areas Says Report

today15 August, 2024

Background

The police inspectorate has found Britain’s biggest force is not adequately investigating crime or managing risks posed by sex offenders. His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary assessed the Metropolitan Police’s performance across eight areas. In its report, it graded the Met as requiring improvement or “inadequate” in seven of the eight. The Met says it’s using every available resource to deliver more trust, less crime and high standards. Inspector of Constabulary Lee Freeman says the force needs to improve in basic areas.
