Japan braces for Typhoon Ampil

Parts of Japan are bracing for heavy rains and strong winds as Typhoon Ampil nears the country’s east coast. Hundreds of flights have been cancelled and warnings have been issued for residents in Japan’s Kanto region. The typhoon’s arrival comes just days after tropical storm Maria brought heavy rains to some northern areas of Japan. Corresponding for us from East Asia is William Denselow.
