Popular Democratic Movement President McHenry Venaani’s plan to reduce Swapo’s electoral share to under 40% is deemed ambitious by analysts. Venaani aims to capitalize on growing voter dissatisfaction and increase PDM’s influence, but political analyst Ndumba Kamwanyah questions whether this target is feasible given Swapo’s entrenched support and competition from other opposition parties like IPC and LPM. Kamwanyah notes that Venaani’s efforts to broaden PDM’s appeal may be hindered by the pressure to retain its status as the official opposition.
