Omaheke governor Pijoo Nganate reported that nearly 800 people have died from malnutrition in the region since 2022, with 30,219 cases recorded in the same period. During his state of the region address, Nganate highlighted 14,774 new malnutrition cases in the 2022/2023 financial year alone.
