The Namibian Ports Authority is investing N$4 billion in the expansion of Lüderitz’s Robert Harbour to establish a crucial oil and gas supply base reports The Brief. Phase 1 includes building a 500-meter quay wall and reclaiming 14 hectares of land, with an Environmental Impact Assessment and Front-End Engineering Design underway. The first section of the quay wall is expected to be completed by mid-2027, with final completion by 2028. In the short term, NAMPORT will use the Port of Walvis Bay South Port for oil and gas supply. Future phases will further expand the port, including additional land reclamation and berth construction.
