NEFF wins case against Electoral Commission of Namibia

The Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters has won its case against the Electoral Commission of Namibia after the commission cancelled the party’s registration in June. In a judgment delivered on Thursday, Judge Thomas Masuku set aside the ECN’s decision. Speaking outside the courthouse after the ruling, NEFF spokesperson Teresia Hamurenge, shared the way forward.

 

 

Political Analyst, Advocate Queen Kasirua says the Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters were robbed of valuable campaigning time.

 

 

The Electoral Commission of Namibia issued a statement regarding the High Court judgment on the de-registration challenge of the Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters. The case, under case number HC-MD-CIV-MOT-2024/00381, resulted in a ruling against the ECN. The Commission’s spokesperson De Wet Siluka acknowledged the judgment.
