UN calls for urgent end to Gaza conflict

The United Nations Human Rights says ending the war in Gaza and averting a full-blown regional conflict is an absolute and urgent priority. The latest attack in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of at least 40 people after Israel struck a designated humanitarian zone. UN commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, says states cannot accept blatant disregard for international law.
