The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa calls on the national government to establish a health infrastructure fund to deal with challenges in health facilities. The country’s public health infrastructure has many shortcomings, including old and often poorly maintained health facilities needing repair, refurbishment and sometimes replacement. Denosa’s Gauteng chairperson, Simphiwe Gada, says there is a need for an overview of the current infrastructure of hospitals in the country:
