The Environment, Forestry and Tourism ministry has issued a warning against killing carmine bee-eater birds. Ministry spokesperson Romeo Muyunda condemned a recent incident in the Kavango regions where these birds were killed, calling it a “barbaric act.” He emphasized the importance of these migratory birds, which breed in Namibia and contribute significantly to tourism, benefiting the social and economic development of rural communities. The ministry is currently investigating the incident.
