ActionSA has uncovered that two-thousand-901 companies owe the South African Revenue Service 216-billion-rand. One-thousand-156 individuals owe 62-billion-rand, totaling 277-billion-rand. This amount represents nearly 90-percent of SARS’s tax revenue. SARS also faces a 1.3-billion-rand budget cut, hampering its ability to collect owed taxes. ActionSA’s, Alan Beesley calls for increased funding to ensure efficient tax recovery and better support for government services:
