In his memoir Timeless: My Career in the Public Service, Secretary to the Cabinet George Simataa reveals that he became a “marked man” after blocking several corrupt tenders, including a N$95 million contract for paving at State House. Simataa, who served as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Transport in 2010, deemed the contract unlawful. Despite being implicated in various questionable dealings, he has never been found guilty of corruption. His memoir highlights the challenges he faced in maintaining integrity while halting corrupt contracts.
