Background

The local renewable energy sector, especially in green hydrogen, should utilize the current anti-corruption frameworks established within the extractive industry, as stated by the Institute for Public Policy Research. IPPR Executive Director Graham Hopwood highlighted the significance of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, which was launched in 2003. The EITI seeks to address challenges related to poor governance and rampant corruption by enhancing transparency in the oil, gas, and mining industries.
