Solar-powered motorcycle completes historic Africa journey

An electric motorcycle, designed and built in Africa and powered solely by solar energy, completed a historic journey from Kenya to Stellenbosch in South Africa. Developed by Stellenbosch University engineers and the Kenyan company Roam, the six-thousand-kilometer journey travelled through Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, and Botswana. Roam’s Masa Kituyi said it’s evidence that clean energy can drive vehicles and a sustainable future for Africa.
