UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer says Britain ‘cant’ change its history’ amid calls for reparations over the transatlantic slave trade. His government has ruled out reparations but a Commonwealth leaders’ summit in Samoa has seen some member states urging a ‘meaningful conversation’ about the issue. King Charles opened the summit with an acknowledgement of inequalities that ‘endure’.
