The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security has announced that the application period for student permits for the 2025 academic year is now open for prospective foreign students who have enrolled or plan to enroll at Namibian educational institutions. Ministry spokesperson Margaret Kalo.

The fees for annual student permits have been set at N$1,600 for primary and secondary education and N$2,200 for tertiary education. Payment of fees is required only after the application is approved.

Applications for courses shorter than one year may be submitted anytime, as long as applicants have a formal offer from a Namibian educational institution. While waiting for the outcome, applicants must maintain legal status in Namibia.

To complete their application, all applicants must meet the stated requirements, sign relevant forms, and submit certified copies of required documents. The Ministry emphasizes that approval letters or acknowledgment receipts will not serve as proof of a valid student permit at entry points.
