ANC reaffirms support for Palestinians

The ANC, South Africa’s former ruling party, has reaffirmed its support for the Palestinian people during the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza. In a media address in Boksburg, ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula called on the international community to condemn the violence against Palestinians and in Lebanon, urging for a ceasefire and humanitarian aid.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Defence Force has defended its continued operations in northern Gaza, saying they are designed to prevent Hamas from regrouping. An Israeli airstrike on a multi-story building killed more than 90 people, including 25 children, in Beit Lahiya yesterday. The attack came a day after Israel banned the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees from operating in the country.
