Solar-powered motorcycle completes historic Africa journey

An electric motorcycle, designed and built in Africa and powered solely by solar energy, completed a historic journey from Kenya to Stellenbosch in South Africa. Developed by Stellenbosch University engineers and the Kenyan company Roam, the six-thousand-kilometer journey travelled through Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, and Botswana. Roam's Masa Kituyi said it’s evidence that clean energy can drive vehicles and a sustainable future for Africa.

The US launches airstrikes in Yemen

The US military carried out airstrikes in Yemen against the Iran-backed Houthis, targeting five underground weapons storage facilities. The facilities were holding various weapons components used to target vessels in the Middle East. US Defence Secretary, Lloyd Austin, says they will continue to make clear to the Houthis that there will be consequences for their illegal and reckless attacks.
