Background

To South Africa, as ANC has announced plans to engage in dialogue with the South African Communist Party following recent tensions over policy direction. This after SACP general secretary Solly Mapaila publicly criticised ANC leadership including president Cyril Ramaphosa. The party’s secretary general, Fikile Mbalula, says that while the ANC values its alliance with the SACP, it believes differences should be handled internally with respect for their shared history:
