In Mozambique, police have fired tear gas at protesters in the largest demonstration yet against the Frelimo party, which was declared the winner of disputed elections on October 9, says Al Jazeera. Frustrations have grown as Frelimo’s victory extends its 49 years in power, with human rights groups reporting that at least 18 people have been killed amid a forceful police crackdown on the protests.
