Dams countrywide collectively hold over 1,556 million cubic meters, with only 21.178 million cubic meters available for use. NamWater reports that transfers boosted levels at Swakoppoort and Von Bach Dams in the central region, which now hold a combined of close to 10 500 million cubic meters. Windhoek’s dams remain critically low, with just 0.401 million cubic meters available. Neckartal Dam in the south has ceased releases. NamWater adds that these figures highlight the urgency of sustainable water management.
