A new research lab’s being set up to help British spies counter the threat of Russian cyber warfare. The government is warning Russian cyber interference could see power grids shut down. Government minister Pat McFadden claims the Kremlin is “exceptionally aggressive and reckless” in this area as the UK hosts a NATO Cyber Defence Conference in London. Russia expert Keir Giles isn’t clear why the UK is raising the issue now.
