DA Challenges Gauteng MEC as E-Toll Debt Allocation Looms

In South Africa, the DA in Gauteng says MEC for Finance, Lebogang Maile, will have to find ways to fund the delivery of quality services with reduced funding. The MEC is set to present the Adjustment Budget for the 2024/2025 financial year today. The DA’s, Dorianne Arendse, says that the provincial government taking responsibility for paying a portion of the e-toll debt, raises serious questions about compromises elsewhere, giving it less to allocate to the delivery of services:
