Air quality in India’s capital dips to “severe” levels

Air Quality in parts of New Delhi has dipped to "severe" levels - with pollutants spiking to 10 times the permissible limits. Overall, the air quality in the capital remained in the very poor category. Officials could now bring in more measures to tackle the pollution, as Ishan Garg reports from New Delhi.

  On Friday, in Gobabis at Kanaan B location, a tragic incident occurred where 36-year-old Tjipekapora Nguvauva reportedly took his own life. No suicide note was found, and police investigations are ongoing. Later that morning in Otavi, a 35-year-old man was apprehended for possessing 50 packs of illicit cigarettes valued at N$10,000. He is expected to appear in court on today.

Taiwan reports rise in Chinese military activity as US election nears

Taiwan's defence ministry said on Sunday it had spotted 35 Chinese military aircraft, including fighters and bombers, flying to the island's south on the way to exercises in the Pacific. It was the second day in a row it has reported such activities, and is taking place days before Tuesday's US presidential election. Laura Westbrook has more.
