Sudan Extends Use of Chad Border Crossing to Aid Famine-Stricken Areas

Sudan’s sovereign council announced an extension for using the Adre border crossing with Chad. Reuters says this is a crucial for delivering food and supplies to famine-threatened areas in Darfur and Kordofan. Over 25 million people in Sudan face severe hunger, with parts of Darfur already experiencing famine due to ongoing conflict between the Sudanese army and paramilitary forces.

S.A. to Deploy 2,800 New Police Officers for Festive Season Security

S.A's Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni says two-thousand-800 new police members will be deployed next month for extra security during the festive season. In her post-cabinet meeting media briefing, Ntshavheni said the officials will focus on high-risk areas, offering visible policing and quicker responses to incidents:

Namra Pays N$75.1 Million in Tax Refunds

  The Namibia Revenue Agency recently disbursed N$75.1 million in tax refunds to over 50,000 taxpayers, with individual refunds ranging from N$100 to N$3,000. Namra spokesperson Tonateni Shidhudhu confirmed a third batch of refunds, between N$101 and N$100,000, is set for release prior to the end of this month.
