ECN to announce final election results tonight as analyst weighs in

The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has confirmed that the official final results of the 2024 Presidential and National Assembly Elections will be announced at 20:00 tonight.

Political analyst Rakkel Andreas says the announcement is highly anticipated, particularly as Swapo has already scheduled a press briefing for tomorrow, where the president-elect is expected to address the nation.

“There’s no surprise in the presidential race,” Andreas noted, pointing out that Swapo candidate Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is leading.

The nation now awaits the ECN’s final declaration to officially confirm the results.
