NSA Launches National Population Proximity Atlas

Background

The Namibia Statistics Agency has launched its first National Population Proximity Atlas, focusing on the proximity of the country’s population to health facilities and telecommunications coverage. The atlas, based on the 2023 Population and Housing Census, reveals that 87% of citizens live within 10 kilometers of a health facility, with urban areas having near-total access. This initiative aims to improve evidence-based planning and resource allocation for better service delivery across the country.
