SADC Parliamentary Forum Urges Action on Human Rights

On Human Rights Day 2024, the SADC Parliamentary Forum issued a statement highlighting the urgent need for action on human rights across Southern Africa. The forum aligns with the international theme, ‘Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now,’ urging governments to ensure the protection of civil, political, and socio-economic rights, especially the right to health and access to essential medicines. The forum also calls for stability in the pricing of sexual and reproductive health commodities, stressing the need for inclusive access, particularly for marginalized communities.
