Ugandan Court Orders Compensation for Lord’s Resistance Army Victims

A Ugandan court has directed the government to pay up to US$2,740 to each victim of Thomas Kwoyelo, a former commander of the Lord’s Resistance Army says Reuters. In October, Kwoyelo, the first senior LRA member convicted by Uganda’s judiciary, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for war crimes, including murder, rape, enslavement, torture, and kidnapping.

  NamWater has released its latest weekly dam bulletin, reporting that the total average storage across reservoirs stands at 48.7%.
