UNRWA suspends aid deliveries to Gaza

The United Nation’s agency for Palestinian refugees, Unrwa, has suspended aid deliveries through Kerem Shalom, the main crossing point for humanitarian aid into Gaza. On Saturday armed gangs attacked a humanitarian convoy. Unrwa head, Philippe Lazzarini, says the delivery of humanitarian aid must never be dangerous or turn into an ordeal. He has called on Israel to ensure aid flows into Gaza safely.

SA expects over 6 million border crossings this festive season

South Africa’s Border Management Authority expects over six million border crossings this festive season. Commissioner Michael Masiapato said they plan to combat cross-border crime and illegal immigration while warning about potential gender-based violence at borders. Masiapato says Home Affairs has also extended operating hours at select ports to ease congestion.

At least five people have been killed in clashes between Congolese government forces and fighters of a militia known as Twirwaneho in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The fighting broke out on Friday in South Kivu province and continued over the weekend.

SA’s Ramaphosa responds to Donald Trump’s threats
