US lawmakers vote for next House Speaker

US Congressman Mike Johnson has been re-elected as the United States’s Speaker of the House of Representatives. In a dramatic turn of events on Capitol Hill on Friday, he appeared to fall short in the first round of voting — only for a handful of holdout members to later throw their weight behind the Louisiana lawmaker.
